What is Move Breathe Be?
Ultimately? My hope is that Move Breathe Be is about you and your self-care and well-being. I’m simply a guide along your journey. Hopefully, I’ll be an important part - but it’s not about me; it’s about you!
The concept came to me on a hiking trip the COVID summer of 2020. Since then, I have slowly been building the foundation of what is now Move Breathe Be LLC.
I meld coaching and yoga & mindfulness together in effort to better understand the work-life imbalances of today’s culture and their impact on how we present and with empathy towards our unique peculiarities related to physical, emotional and mental injuries.
Who Am I?
Great question - I’m Catherine.
Pleased to meet you.
I love to help people. I always have.
I haven’t always helped myself, though. Despite knowing deep down that I’m worthy as-is, simply for being, for most of my life, I never felt “enough”. This “not enoughness” drove my work ethic and achievements for as long as I can remember. I felt this constant urge to prove myself…over and over and over again. I still do sometimes.
When managed well, this drive is my super power, leading me to great results. When not managed well, it is my Achilles heel, leading me to anger, resentment and burnout.
Through 20+ years of a dedicated yoga practice, 10+ years of therapy and 3+ years of coaching, I’ve been able to nurture my self-care and well-being journey, resulting in some of the most valuable (and hardest) work of my life. I’m convinced when I look back that it will be the bearer of my greatest accomplishments.
What else about me? I attended the University of North Carolina for undergrad and Georgetown University for my MBA. I am a proud aunt to seven “niblings” and mum to two bunny rabbits. A military brat, I live in an old Victorian house in Historic Anacostia in Washington, D.C.
